DHEC Announces Wednesday Numbers
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 987 new confirmed cases and 111 new probable cases of the new coronavirus, 13 additional confirmed deaths and 1 probable new death.
Greenville County leads with most cases in 156 confirmed cases. Richland County follows in 109.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 178,524, probable cases to 10,471, confirmed deaths to 3,809 and 267 probable deaths.

- State budget officials released the latest financial estimates, showing that the state’s financial picture has some good points after a gloomy year. The state has reduced its budget forecasts for 2020-2021 by more than $ 800 million since the pandemic began. But the latest figures show a smaller overall financial deficit than previously expected, it was expected to be more than $ 100 million worse. In the next fiscal year, the state may see a 1.7% increase in taxes and other revenue revenue, which is half the historical normal and a quarter of the percentage increase the state saw in the 2018-2019 fiscal year. - On Tuesday, SC DHEC announced 1,326 new confirmed cases and 69 new probable cases of the new coronavirus, 18 additional confirmed deaths and 4 new probable deaths.
- This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 177,515, probable cases to 10,223, confirmed deaths to 3,795 and 267 probable deaths.
- Up to yesterday, 2,225,627 examinations have been carried out in the state.
- The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday across the state was 6,074 (not including antibody tests) and the positive percentage was 16.2%.
- Prisma Health will provide free flu shots to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at Monaghan Baptist Church, 1500 W. Parker Road in Greenville, from 10 am to 1 pm Thursday. Free flu shots will also be available during the same time on Thursday, November 19, at Brookwood Church, 580 Brookwood Point Place in Simpsonville.
