The lawsuits were filed in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both plaintiffs are represented by attorney Tony Buzbee.
CNN contacted Watson’s agent for comment. An NFL spokesman told CNN on Wednesday that the league is aware of the news, but will not comment further at this time.
The first lawsuit alleges that Watson assaulted an unidentified licensed massage therapist “by touching her with his penis” while receiving a massage at the therapist’s home in March 2020.
“As a result of a social media post made by a plaintiff’s attorney seeking publicity, I recently became aware of a lawsuit that apparently was brought against me,” Watson tweeted on Tuesday. “I haven’t seen the complaint yet, but I know that: I’ve never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect.
“The plaintiff’s lawyer claims that it is not about money, but before filing the case he made an unsubstantiated six-digit liquidation request, which I quickly rejected. Unlike him, it is not about money for me – it is about clearing my name and I’m looking forward to doing that. “
CNN contacted Buzbee to find out if a six-figure deal was offered to Watson.
The lawsuit alleges that the therapist left Watson alone in the massage room at her home and when she returned, “Watson was lying on the massage table completely naked with only a small towel covering the groin area … Watson then began to dictate aggressively. how he wanted the massage to be performed. Watson emphasized to the Claimant that she did not use the knuckles or elbows during the massage. Instead, Watson told the Claimant that she should only use her hands. your focus was on the groin area. ”
The lawsuit says the woman “started to feel extremely uncomfortable” and was trying to find a way to “get rid of the situation”.
“At one point, he purposely exposed the tip of the penis under the towel,” the suit alleges. “As a result of the movement of his hips, Watson purposely touched the Claimant’s hand with the tip of his erect penis.”
The lawsuit says the therapist “was shocked and mortified” and ended the session.
Watson left the “home without further incident” and later apologized by text for the alleged incident, according to the lawsuit.
The woman is “looking for minimal compensatory damages”, as well as legal and punitive costs, the process notes.
In a statement to CNN on Wednesday, the Texans said: “We learned of a civil lawsuit involving Deshaun Watson through a social media post last night. This is the first time we have heard about it and hope to learn more. coming soon.
“We take allegations of this nature that involve anyone within the Houston Texans organization seriously. We will wait for more information before making any additional statements about this incident.”
Second woman alleges assault in August 2020
The second lawsuit alleges that Watson assaulted and harassed an unidentified masseuse in August 2020 at a hotel in Houston, “touching her with his penis and exposing himself”. The lawsuit says the woman, who lives in Atlanta, was taken for a massage.
“Watson’s behavior is part of a disturbing pattern of preying on vulnerable women,” says the court document.
According to the process, Watson wanted the massage to focus on the buttocks and groin area and also asked about the quadriceps and Achilles tendon.
The lawsuit says Watson was naked on the massage table and the plaintiff said he needed to use a towel to cover himself. However, Watson declined, the suit says, saying he “gets hot easily” and wanted to remain naked. The lawsuit says Watson “continued aggressively” directing the woman to work on her anus, which made her uncomfortable.
“Watson was more specific then and asked the Plaintiff to work on the inside of his anus,” says the suit. “The Claimant ignored this request because it was strange and decided to start working on the inner area of Watson’s thigh. Watson became more aggressive, now telling the Claimant to go higher and higher towards his penis.”
The woman said no, but Watson “continued to insist, saying ‘get up higher’ and ‘go here’ towards the genitals,” says the court document.
The lawsuit also says that it was at this point that Watson moved towards her, causing her to touch her genitals. After Watson flipped over and was exposed, the suit says, the woman asked Watson to cover himself with a towel, but Watson refused. The woman stopped the massage and said she needed to go.
When contacted by CNN on Wednesday night, the Texans said they did not have an updated statement.
Watson played four seasons in Houston and was selected for three Pro Bowls. According to the Spotrac website, he signed a $ 156 million four-year contract in 2020.
