Hot Wheels Unleashed announced, already made me spend money on toys

Recently, I have spent at least an hour every day playing Hot Wheels with my four year old son. It is one of the games I most enjoy playing with him, so much so that last week I spent 50 pounds and bought more tracks, a new car launcher and a booster that accelerates them.

So Hot Wheels Unleashed, a newly announced Hot Wheel racing game, has my attention.

None of this is actual footage from the game, but it’s basically Trackmania, right? Cars move fast, the tracks spin and loop-by-loop and you can build your own tracks.

Where it may be more different is that these tracks are passing through real-world locations in the sale of toys, so your scenarios will be the tables and the living room floor. In that sense, it is more reminiscent of the old Micro Machines games. Most of which were developed by Codemasters and therefore are probably now owned by EA.

It is being developed by Milestone Games, the creators of other racing series, such as MotoGP and Ride. This gives me some hope that Hot Wheels Unleashed will be better than other licensed games, which have focused on mobile platforms, or have simply been poorly rated.

Update! Earn £ 60 spent on Hot Wheels last week. The game’s press release mentioned that the “Hot Wheels Singles variety” was recognized as the best-selling toy of 2020 worldwide. So I, uh, went to Amazon and bought it. I need more new cars, because many of the ones we have are from eBay, a little broken, and my son won’t let me keep the good ones when we play. I keep losing our runs and taught him to do a really nasty and elated dance if he wins.

Now I will have my revenge. Hot Wheels Unleashed will be released on September 30th.
