Hot Pockets reminded about potential contamination of glass and plastic

Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling certain pepperoni Hot Pockets with concerns that they may be contaminated with pieces of glass and rigid plastic, announced the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The Class I recall applies to 12 oz. Hot pepperoni packs of pepperoni with an expiration date of February 2022 and batch codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 and 0321544614. The property number “EST. 7721A” appears within the tag USDA inspection package.

Recalled Hot Pockets has the best date of February 2022.
A Class I recall involves a “health risk situation where there is a reasonable likelihood that using the product will cause serious and adverse health or death consequences,” according to the USDA website.

Approximately 762,615 pounds of recalled Hot Pockets were shipped to stores across the country.

There are four consumer complaints about foreign materials inside Hot Pockets, said the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

One complaint includes a report of a minor oral injury, officials said.

Consumers who purchased the collected product must either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase, the Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
