UPDATE (19:12, March 27, 2021): Oklahoma City police confirmed that the correctional officer was rescued and is currently in a metropolitan hospital receiving treatment.
Authorities also confirmed that an inmate inside the prison was shot and killed by an Oklahoma City police officer.

The Oklahoma County Detention Center is closed after a correctional officer has been taken hostage.
Oklahoma County officials confirmed on Saturday that the correctional officer was held hostage on the 10th floor of the prison.
A source confirmed to News 9 that the police officer was delivering medication when they were assaulted by an inmate. The prisoner took the keys from the correction officer and tied the officer.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office tactical response team is on its way to prison.
