Horn dazzled scouts and appraisers on his own merit. The son of former Pro Bowl receiver Joe Horn, he displayed an impressive pedigree, measuring 6’0, 205 pounds and 33-inch arms. And if the measurable values weren’t good enough, Horn posted a 41.5-inch vertical jump and a 3.5-meter wide jump.
Pro Day times for the 40-yard dash are not normally made official, but Horn reportedly ran a 40-time stroke of 4.39, according to several reports.
Combine those results with some impressive college film, and it’s not surprising that Horn estimates it will be drawn up at the start of the NFL’s 2021 Draft next month. And given the needs of the Cowboys in the cornerback, it’s not surprising that McClay and others are doing their due diligence on the position.
For some time now, Surtain has been the favorite to be the first cornerback off the table. But with an impressive Pro Day, not to mention an incredibly impressive tape, it’s absolutely fair to include Horn’s name in the mix.
