You can see a clip of the 72p version of the game in the tweet below (and watch the original video here):
Did you know that the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn allows you to switch the resolution to 72p? (256×144) pic.twitter.com/3nYccHPQDZ

Using the 2GB DDR3 version of the GT 710, Kryzzp started the benchmark test by loading the Horizon Zero Dawn’s ultra-graphical settings in 1080p resolution. As the video progresses, Kryzzp decreases the graphics quality to ‘favor performance’, which is the lowest 1080p resolution mode in the game. The screen settings continue to drop to 720p, 360p and 144p, and while the graphics quality of Horizon Zero Dawn clearly declines, Kryzzp is still able to run and traverse the game’s huge map.
The final test, which shows Kryzzp lowering the resolution to its lowest point of 72p, shows what Horizon Zero Dawn might look like if it had been released during the PlayStation 1 era. Incredibly, Kryzzp manages to escape the attention of one of Zero Dawn’s robotic dinosaurs , but it is unclear how much ammunition he used to pursue his pursuer. At the very least, Kryzzp’s experiment raises the question of what other games could theoretically be played with a resolution of 72p. Since it is almost impossible to read anything on the screen, however, we do not advise you to choose this setting.
In our port review of PC Horizon Zero Dawn, we said it was “a very beautiful game and comes to the PC in a version that allows for higher frame rates, arbitrary resolution rendering, support for 21: 9 aspect ratio and an option of field of view adjustment. “In other news, Guerrilla recently announced that it was slowing updates to Horizon Zero Dawn PC to focus on its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West.
