Holland America Line extends cruise operations break – Cruise industry news

While Holland America Line continues to prepare and develop its plans to comply with the Conditional Navigation Order Framework issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the company announced on Wednesday afternoon that it is extending the break cruise operations for all departures until April 30, 2021.

This includes departures in Alaska, the Mexican Riviera, the Pacific Coast, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Canada / New England.

The line will also cancel all Alaskan cruises by mid-May, depart from Alaska on three ships by early June, any land + sea voyages connected with Alaskan canceled cruises, Mediterranean cruises by early June and the itineraries of Canada / New England from Zaandam until August.

The cruises affected by this pause in the operation are:

  • All cruise departures until April 30, 2021.
  • Alaska: Eurodam and Oosterdam during the first week of June (round trip from Seattle); Koningsdam until mid-May (roundtrip from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada); Nieuw Amsterdam and Noordam until mid-May (roundtrip Vancouver and between Vancouver and Whittier, Alaska); and Zuiderdam in early June (roundtrip from Vancouver).
  • Mediterranean: Volendam cruises until the beginning of June (between Venice and Civitavecchia [Rome], Italy); Westerdam in early June (round trip from Venice or between Venice and Piraeus [Athens], Greece).
  • Canada / New England: Zaandam crosses until August (between Boston, Massachusetts and Montreal, Quebec, Canada).

Guests and their travel agents are being notified of cancellations and options for Future Cruise Credits (FCC) and rebooking.
