Global HMD produces many, many, Many Android phones from Nokia. The company already had the camera app for most of its devices loaded on the Play Store, so updates could be released without the need for complete operating system updates, but now HMD has a new camera app in the store.
HMD originally used the package name ‘com.hmdglobal.camera2’ for the camera on its Nokia branded phones, but this app has not been updated since October 2018, according to the Play Store list. A new camera app appeared in 2019, starting with Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2, which HMD just published on the Play Store.
The new Play Store list already reports more than 1 million installations, and the latest update says “fix the Nokia camera lock issue.” You can take a look at the page with the link below, but the app still works only on the Nokia phones that come with it.
