Hitman 3 file size revealed, reducing previous two games

Hitman 3 is only a few weeks away and fans are eager to get their hands on completing IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy.

Just before its release, the team revealed that the Hitman 3 file size will optimize several aspects of the first two games and provide a better experience.

In a series of ResetEra posts, IO Interactive confirmed that all three games in the developer’s new trilogy will reach around 100 GB, below the 125 GB Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 currently occupy.

“One thing I think all of you will be happy to hear is that we have managed to decrease the size of the game significantly. All three games with all the content will occupy about 100 GB,” said the developer at the forum.

Adding to that, the same developer points out that the first two games in the franchise will use a newer and better compression for textures and that the engine used has been updated with reflections of screen space, with many surfaces from the first two games being updated.

All three Hitman games will look clearer once Hitman 3 is released.

These improvements will be noticeable on all platforms, but especially on the PS5 and Xbox Series S / X, where the power of the new consoles will make Hitman look better and run more smoothly than ever.

IO managed to get the game to run at a silky speed of 4K 60 frames per second on all three new consoles, and if you have a PC, the game has the potential to get even better, depending on your hardware.

This conclusion of the World of Assassination trilogy will include new places to murder people, from the quiet roads and villages of Dartmoor, England, to the smooth neon streets of Chongqing, China, adding to the already extensive list of locations in the trilogy.

Hitman 3 will incorporate a number of new locations from around the world.

Hitman 3 will complete the franchise reboot by IO, launching on current generation and next generation consoles, PC, and being fully playable in VR on PS4.

The native version of PS5, unfortunately, does not support PSVR, so you will need to play the PS4 version to access the mode. Fortunately, a free update will be available to players.

The game may even be played on the Nintendo Switch, thanks to a cloud version that will be released after the game reaches other consoles and platforms on January 20, 2021.
