An animated short Star Wars film introduces fans to Jedi Master Avar Kriss, an important figure in The High Republic books and comics.
An excited Star Wars The featurette serves to introduce fans to Avar Kriss, a Jedi Master and key figure in the era of the High Republic.
Avar is described as the “model” of the Jedi Order, whose “compassion as a leader is inspiring”. She has a range of Force skills at her disposal, the rarest and most notable of which is her ability to view the Force itself as music, “evoking tone, rhythm and beat”. Avar also led the effort to rescue planet Hetzal amid the catastrophe of hyperspace across the galaxy known as the Great Disaster.
Avar Kriss was introduced to the Star Wars universe via holocron cameo almost a whole year ago in Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren # 3, which – written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Will Sliney – was published by Marvel Comics in February 2020. The High Republic publishing initiative was officially launched earlier this month on January 5, with Avar acting as the main protagonist de Romance de soule Star Wars: Light of the Jedi.
Besides Light of the Jedi, Avar appears in the book of young readers by author Cavan Scott and illustrator Petur Antonsson Star Wars: The Great Jedi Rescue, which was also released on January 5. She can also be seen in the Marvel Comics series by writer Scott and artist Ario Anindito Star Wars: The High Republic, which launched its first edition on January 6.
