You won’t see anything like it at the 2021 Golden Globe ceremony.

Emily in Paris? More like Emily in PCs. Variety reports that the approximately 90 foreign journalists who make up the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and torture us treat us every year through the Golden Globe and asked the nominees to stay at home and not attend the process in person, because … well, you know why. “It is our most important goal to keep the 2021 Golden Globe production safe,” says a production letter sent to nominees on Tuesday afternoon. “That’s why we are following all the COVID protocols and guidelines outlined by the appropriate government offices / agencies, including the CDC, local and federal health departments, as well as those required in the entertainment industry back to work agreements.” Although it seems that the Golden Globe is taking the utmost precaution when it comes to its nominees, for the presenters the story is different. Last week, HFPA invited presenters, including Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina and the midwest queens, Barb and Star, to perform in person at the Beverly Hilton or New York’s Rainbow Room with presenters Amy Poehler in LA and Tina Fey in New York.

This year’s honorees are not just being invited to stay home this year, HFPA is asking nominees to stay home with members of their own families, so don’t expect to see a flashy Canadian Schitt’s Creek– Emmy party style when the event airs on February 28th. “Our vision for the show is to have our nominees in a safe place, preferably in their homes, surrounded only by people from their immediate families. Production is not comfortable with any other meetings that are not supervised by our team. Thank you for understanding. ”It seems that this year’s craziest Hollywood party will not match Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo and Jamie Dornan who are in the city of Vista del Mar.
