Gerry Willis of FOX Business on the demand for luxury real estate.
Coral Gables is a city in Florida that offers the benefits of the state’s warm climate and low taxes, access to neighboring Miami and the green and peaceful tranquility of a smaller community.
Could it be your next home?
Nicknamed “The City Beautiful”, Coral Gables is one of the first examples of a planned community incorporated in 1925. Its houses feature Mediterranean-style revival architecture, and the city has been carefully planned around a main thoroughfare and with green spaces designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed New York’s Central Park.
Coral Gables is located southwest of Miami. It is the home of the University of Miami and the headquarters of companies like Fresh Del Monte Product and Bacardi USA.
The rich community is also home to several celebrities. Some of those who allegedly bought houses there include Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, Timbaland and Pharrell.
Many houses in the city are on the National Register of Historic Places, and its Biltmore Hotel is a national historic landmark.
The average selling price at Coral Gables reached a high of more than $ 1.1 million last September, according to ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. And last month, homes were spending an average of less than 100 days on the market. The number of active listings has dropped from almost 200 from January 2020 to January 2021.
