The LG Stylo series has long been a favorite of people who want a pen on their phone but don’t want to sell a kidney to get it. However, last year’s Stylo 6 was a little disappointing, offering poor performance and few precious updates over its predecessor. Will the tracking show better? Now, thanks to OnLeaks, we took our first look at the Stylo 7 5G.

Although most of the specs remain unknown, these renderers still tell us a little bit about the next device. The chin is quite pronounced this year, and a pierced camera has replaced the notch at the top of the screen, lending the phone a more modern aesthetic. The screen is a 6.8-inch flat panel, with no word yet on resolution or display technology. The current Stylo 6 uses an IPS screen, and I suspect that too.

The body measures 170.4 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm, which makes it a relatively large phone, although slightly smaller than the Stylo 6.

Moving in the back, we can see that the three camera system is now organized vertically, as is the fashion today. The rear-mounted fingerprint reader is probably moved under the screen, or maybe the power button, and the headphone connector is here again, flanking the USB-C port opposite the pen and loud -speaker.

While most phones position the volume buttons on the right with the power key, LG has kept things from the old school and configured them on the opposite side, along with a Google Assistant button. I am happy with this decision, as I find it easier to take screenshots when the power key is opposite the volume button.

Finally, the leak reveals that there will likely be two versions of the Stylo 7: the 5G variant shown here and a cheaper 4G variant. Stylo 6 was released in May this year, so the 7 is probably still a few months away.
