The designer who created Meghan MarkleThe dress for the pregnancy announcement spoke about the “powerful message” behind the Duchess’s choice of costume.
Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon explained to The telegraph like the mother of 2 years old Archie Harrison chose to wear a dress she already had for her and Prince Harrythe big ad for.
“I made [the dress] for her when she was pregnant with Archie, then almost two years ago, “he told the outlet.” There is a reality, it’s 2021, and we have a world to save, right? This is an undeniable crisis and everyone has to do their part ”.
“At Herrera, we are committed to finding sustainable fabrics,” continued Wes. “But the number one thing that anyone can do for sustainability is to retain the parts you buy and use them for longer. That’s why I think what Meghan did is such a powerful message.”
He also added that just because the dress was two years old does not mean that Meghan “felt neither less special nor less happy”.
