Nier Replicant Ver.1.22474487139 … will launch in April, but you can take another look at what it has today. Square Enix has shared a new preview with some of the platforms, combat and boss fights where you will enter the updated version of the prequel for Nier: Automata.
In the new game video, you “follow the Young Protagonist as he navigates old puzzles, defeats Shadows and confronts mysterious and sensitive cubes in this sacred place,” says Square Enix. A good third of the video below is a look at the sophisticated world of Replicant you will be visiting. It shows the Sterile Temple and the surrounding city, complete with a good dose of daring from its companion, the flying and talking book, Grimoire Weiss.
Replicant is the prequel to the much appreciated Automata, which RPS considered one of the best RPGs for PC, even if it challenges that label a little. Replicant’s new gameplay video shows the same tendency to dance between bullet hell and RPG and any other genres that Nier decides to try.
“At first glance, this is a science fiction story with a lot of action on recovering the land from destructive robots,” says the hive about the automatons. “At first glance, it is something totally different. At first glance, you will find a tin man named after a 17th century mathematician, and you will begin to wonder how many more looks it will take to really know what this game is doing . ”
