Here is a new view of Apex Legends running on the Switch • Eurogamer.net

Before next week’s release.

Apex Legends is making its long-awaited debut on the Switch next Tuesday, March 9th, and in the race for release, developer Respawn Entertainment shared a brand new trailer that offers a more detailed look at the free shooter running on console.

Apex Legends was originally expected to launch on the platform last fall, but complications caused by the coronavirus pandemic had its launch pushed into this year. The port is finally ready for its public debut, however, Switch owners will be able to enjoy the multiplatform game, all seasonal content and full feature parity with other versions when it launches next week.

And if you’re wondering how the Switch edition is shaping up, the answer seems to be (and, I agree, I’m not a Douglas Foundry) ‘very well indeed’, with the door – developed in conjunction with the Panic Button, which also brought names like Doom Eternal, Warframe and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus for the Nintendo console – getting a new air in the trailer below.

The only downside is that Switch owners will have a little update to join the action of Apex Legends a month after the eighth season of the shooter – which, if you’re not familiar with, adds a new playable hero Fuse, a new lever – action rifle known as The 30-30 Repeater, a new Battle Pass and Classified Season, plus some major changes to the Kings Canyon map.

Respawn is trying to resolve the late start of Season Eight by giving Switch players the first 30 levels of the current Apex Legends battle pass for free. In addition, twice as much XP will be awarded on the platform in the first two weeks after launching next Tuesday, March 9th.
