Several hundred thousand workers in Massachusetts will become eligible to schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments on Monday, under an update on the state’s vaccine launch announced on Wednesday by Governor Charlie Baker.
According to Baker’s administration, residents over 60 and certain frontline workers will become eligible on Monday, March 22 – followed by residents over 55 and individuals with a qualified medical condition in 5 April and then all residents over 16 on April 19.
The state – which made most teachers fully eligible last week – has always included workers facing greater exposure to COVID-19 during Phase 2 of the vaccine’s launch. However, Wednesday’s announcement was the first time that the Baker’s administration has provided a specific date for when they can start scheduling appointments.
