Here are some of the best Apple Watch fitness apps

If you plan to start 2021 with a renewed focus on fitness, the Apple Watch is a great tool to help you on your journey. In addition to native features such as your movement ring and workout tracking, a variety of third-party apps also exist to enhance the fitness experience of Appel Watch. Here are some of our favorite Apple Watch fitness apps.

SmartGym

Smart Gym is an application that offers a variety of predefined workouts and exercises that you can start directly on your Apple Watch. The application also uses the latest features of watchOS 7, as support for multiple complications on the same display.

Regular users can create their own routines, access more than 100 pre-made exercises, carefully created by professionals, or use Artificial Intelligence + Machine Learning to create personalized exercises for them. They can then start a training session and record all exercises, note any changes and easily monitor their progress.

SmartGym is available on the App Store as a free download with in-app purchases. The app is a great way to complement your Apple Watch training experience with additional tools, programming, routines and more.

Liftr – training tracker

Liftr is a powerful standalone application for iPhone and Apple Watch focused on monitoring strength training. The application was designed to help you monitor your lifting progress in different exercises. Features include:

Streaks is one of my favorite apps for iPhone and Apple Watch, making it easy to manage any type of habit or routine. Streaks Workout takes a similar approach, but focuses entirely on fitness and exercise. Streaks Workout offers a collection of exercises that can be performed anywhere and anywhere, regardless of the equipment.

You can start workouts using the Apple Watch Streaks Workout app and monitor data like your heart rate and more.

For those looking for a quick workout, 7 Minute Workout is a fun app that offers a daily high intensity interval training workout that requires no equipment. The application groups 12 high intensity body weight exercises at 30 seconds per exercise, with 10 seconds of rest between exercises.

You can start the exercises directly from Apple Watch and everything is linked to HealthKit. 7 Minute Workout is a free download with in-app purchases on the App Store.

Strava

Strava has been a staple in the fitness community for years and fully embraces the Apple Watch. From the Strava app for Apple Watch, you can track your progress and running, swimming and cycling exercises.

Training zones

Zones is a powerful Apple Watch application that monitors the intensity of your exercise and helps you to visualize it. The application shows the intensity of your exercise using heart rate in real time, with four different heart rate zones to understand the intensity of your exercise:

  • Peak – to improve performance and speed.
  • Cardio – to improve cardiovascular endurance.
  • Fat burning – For longer exercises. Predominantly uses fat for energy.
  • Heating – For preparation and recovery.
