HelloFresh apologizes to the customer who allegedly found a bottle of urine included in the meal kit

Well, that is a relief.

HelloFresh apologized to a customer in the UK who claims to have found a bottle of urine included in his delivery box – but they say the culprit does not work for the company.

The client, sports journalist Oliver McManus, first shared the news of the spicy package on Sunday morning, after opening a box containing his HelloFresh meal kit. Later, he tweeted a photo of the offending item – a bottle of Coca-Cola that appeared to be full of urine – and asked HelloFreshUK if they knew why he could have “received a bottle of Coca-Cola p[—] with my order? “

HelloFresh has since released a statement publicly apologizing for the incident and confirming that they “offered an appropriate gesture of goodwill” to McManus.

“We are really horrified and we regret that the customer received the offending item. Given the totally unacceptable nature, we investigated this situation and found that the box left our premises completely sealed, having passed all internal checks. We are urgently investigating as an opening the box with this bottle was delivered with our delivery partner, “the company said in a statement released to Fox News.

“We are working hard to do everything we can to ensure that this does not happen again.”

But McManus, while grateful for the apology, repeatedly he said don’t want for anyone to be fired for this incident, especially in the midst of the stressful working conditions that delivery drivers are likely to face in the midst of the pandemic.

“I know they said they are going to investigate, but as far as I’m concerned, they apologized to me … and their excuses are good enough for me to draw a line,” he told Fox News. “I would be disappointed if any further action was taken.”
