Heavy storms to cross the Lowcountry this afternoon / night!

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – A strong storm system will push the Carolinas today, bringing the threat of severe to severe storms. The Live 5 First Alert Weather team today made a FIRST ALERT FOR THE DAY OF WEATHER as we prepare for the potential for severe to severe storms. The weather will start calm this morning with mild temperatures and a breeze blowing from the south. Expect a warm and airy lunchtime with a partly cloudy sky. Earlier this afternoon, storms will begin to approach the I-95 corridor. The storms will go from I-95 to the coast in the late afternoon and early evening. Any storms will be able to produce harmful gusts, hail and isolated tornadoes. The threat of bad weather will quickly diminish tonight.
