Heavily armed man arrested near the US Capitol

A Virginia gunman is the third person arrested near the US Capitol in three days, while police fortify the area for Induction Day.

Guy Berry, 22, was arrested on Sunday afternoon for carrying an unlicensed pistol and possessing a large-capacity ammunition and unregistered ammunition feeding device, according to the WJLA.

The gun was “clearly visible in a holster” while the suspect was walking near Washington’s National Mall, police told local ABC affiliate

Berry carried three high-capacity clips and more than three dozen unregistered ammunition, the report says.

On Saturday, a Connecticut woman was arrested after police officers said she tried to get through security controls by pretending to be a police officer.

The day before, another heavily armed Virginia man was charged after trying to pass a checkpoint with false possession credentials. The police found him with an unregistered gun and more than 500 rounds of ammunition.
