On Saturday, Post Malone will hold a virtual concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pokémon franchise. If that combination wasn’t weird enough, today he revealed one of the songs he’s going to play: a cover of Hootie & the Blowfish, a mid-90s hit, “Only Wanna Be With You”.
I’m not sure how much cross there is between Post, Hootie and Pokémon fans, but music is definitely a real thing. You can hear the cover in the video above, and The Pokémon Company says that “the song will be included as part of the main Post appearance” in the virtual show, which will air on February 27 at 7 pm ET. Elsewhere, it also looks like we can get great news from the franchise. On February 26 at 10 am ET, The Pokémon Company will hold an event on its YouTube channel, which promises “approximately 20 minutes Pokémon news.”
