It seems that GameStop’s mania for actions will soon be enshrined in the history of cinema by none other than HBO.
The premium cable network recruited “Billions” co-creator and financial journalist, Andrew Ross Sorkin, alongside Blumhouse TV chief Jason Blum and former HBO Filmes president Len Amato to develop a film based on the recent stock market frenzy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The untitled film will tell the story of how the subreddit’s Reddit stock brokers, WallStreetBets, created a stock market bottleneck through GameStop shares and in turn threatened hedge fund managers and chiefs of Wall Street, reports the outlet.
The HBO project, however, is not the only film in development during the recent Reddit uprising.
