HBO series Max Julia Child starring Sarah Lancashire

HBO Max, the best Wellington of streaming services, announced today that Happy Valley star Sarah Lancashire will play the famous chef and author Julia Child in an eight-episode series about her life. Entitled Julia, the program will focus on the child’s middle age years as Mastering the Art of French Cuisine is a huge success in the culinary world, and touch the “Emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and the cultural growth of America”. In addition to Lancashire, David Hyde Pierce will play Child’s passionate husband, Paul Cushing Child, with others Frasier– Universe star Bebe Neuwirth also appears in an undisclosed role. Interestingly, this project has been bubbling up on HBO Max for over a year, with Joan Cusack originally cast as Child. But anyway. We don’t expect there to be an annoying side plot of Amy Adams blogging about bourguignon.
