Fans of Transformers, My Little Pony and Dungeons & Dragons will have more ways to experience their favorite toys and games.

On Thursday, Hasbro shared its plans for dozens of films and television shows based on its iconic intellectual properties during investor day.

The Rhode Island-based toy maker has long been part of the entertainment industry with movie franchises like Transformers and animated TV shows based on My Little Pony. However, after the acquisition of Entertainment One for $ 3.8 billion in late 2019, Hasbro has managed to triple the number of entertainment projects.

“Sometime between 2022 and 2023, you should see two or three of our films each year and three to four programs broadcast,” Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said in an interview. “And then we are going to scale this up as we add a new IP, while we are also making subsequent seasons of the programs that we have already [created]. “

The next projects range from theatrical releases to improvised competition shows.

Hasbro previously announced a series of projects like “GI Joe: Snake Eyes”, which is due to hit theaters in October; a feature film by Dungeons & Dragons starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Rege-Jean Page, and an animated television series based on Clue.

In addition, the toy maker has revealed plans for makeshift projects based on Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Easy Bake, Operation, Nerf and Play-Doh.

Here’s a look at what’s coming from Hasbro and eOne:

Feature films

“Snake-eyes” – Coming October 22, “Snake Eyes” features Henry Golding in the title role. The film explores the origin story of the iconic character GI Joe, who is usually dressed in black with a mask covering his face and is one of the organization’s most skilled agents.

power Rangers – Jonathan Entwistle, who produced the Netflix series “I’m not okay with that” and “The end of the fucking world”, will direct a new Power Rangers movie for Hasbro.

Dungeons and Dragons – Jeremy Latcham, a producer with six Marvel films under his belt, is one of the brains behind the upcoming film Dungeons & Dragons, which is being created in partnership with Paramount Pictures. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith and Rege-Jean Page and will be written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.

Transformers – In addition to a live action feature film due to hit theaters next year as part of its partnership with Paramount, Hasbro is also working on a new animated feature film for toy ownership.

My Little Pony Movie – A new CG animated film, My Little Pony, will hit Netflix in the fall.

Scripted series

Risk – A TV show with a script by Beau Willimon (“House of Cards”) will be inspired by Risk, a board game where players seek global achievement through war, strategy and diplomacy.

Tip – There are few details about Hasbro’s plan for this animated series based on the popular board game, but Hasbro’s Goldner promises that the Fox show will be exciting and capture what has made Clue so popular over the years. Expect some more adult themes with this animated series.

Transformers – In addition to the films, Hasbro is due to launch two new Transformers programs. One is called “Bot Bots”, which is a 20-episode animated comedy series scheduled to debut on Netflix. The other is an animated series made in partnership with Nickelodeon. This series will have 26 half-hour episodes.

My little Pony – Following the premiere of a My Little Pony movie on Netflix, Hasbro will launch a television series featuring Sunny Starscout and his friends.

power Rangers – Hasbro is currently in the process of filming a new series called “Dino Fury”.

GI Joe – The company plans to bring a series of GI Joe live action to Amazon. The series will center around secret agent Lady Jaye and connect to the larger universe of GI Joe.

Magic the Gathering – An animation program will go to Netflix, the company announced on Thursday.

Dungeons and Dragons– Hasbro is developing television series based on the iconic table game that will premiere after the feature.

“Kia” – Hasbro unveiled a new eOne series called “Kiya”, which revolves around a superhero who saves the day with martial arts and dancing. The series, originally from South Africa, is for children aged 3 to 6 and opens on Disney Jr. and Disney + in 2023. The series will have 52 episodes with about 11 minutes each.

Hasbro has already launched a cooking show based on its board game Candy Land with the Food Network, but it will not stop there. The company is looking to do more improvised and competition shows with other properties in the future.
