Harvey Weinstein appealed his sex crime conviction at his 2020 New York trial, according to documents obtained by Fox News.
The unfortunate film producer was found guilty in February 2020 of rape and criminal sexual intercourse. The now 69-year-old was sentenced to 23 years in prison in March 2020.
Weinstein’s lawyers filed a 166-page appeal on Monday, alleging that Manhattan Supreme Court judge James Burke “woefully neglected” to ensure a fair trial.
The appeal also states that the judge “should not have allowed the testimony of four women whose sexual allegations did not result in criminal charges”.

Weinstein’s legal team said the testimony “just described Weinstein as disgusting” and had nothing to do with the charges he faced.

The team also called Weinstein’s sentence unfair and “death sentence”.
“With a past year and emotions waning, the transcript of the case confirms what we have always believed: that Mr. Weinstein did not receive a fair trial,” said Arthur Aidala, one of Weinstein’s lawyers at Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, PC “We are most confident that the Appeals Division will correct these errors and send this case back to a different judge.”

Manhattan prosecutor spokesman Danny Frost told Fox News on Monday: “We will respond to our petition to the court.”
In addition to alleging that the judge was biased, the appeal documents also claimed that Judge No. 11 Amanda Brainerd was also.
Weinstein also faces charges of rape and other sexual assaults in California.

As a judge, Brainerd was writing a book that was due to be released in the summer of 2020 called the “Age of Consent”, which chronicled “predatory male teachers” and “sexual relations with older men and the power that adults have over them” .
The appeal documents stated: “Clearly, the fact that the prospective judge has written a book that involves sexual intercourse between women and ‘older predatory men’ – the very charge against Mr. Weinstein – is something that should have been made public. , even in the absence of a direct question. “

Weinstein also faces rape, forced oral copulation and other charges in California after five women said they were attacked during events in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills from 2004 to 2013.
