Harry Styles is getting bold.
The “Golden” singer opened the 2021 Grammy on Sunday night with a performance of “Watermelon Sugar”, dressed in a custom leather Gucci suit and a green feather boa.
However, once the superstar tore off his furry accessory, he revealed a second neck accessory: a Gucci banana necklace with a phallic symbol, which he paired with his ever-present cross necklace.
The necklace, which is currently sold out and costs $ 450, is said to send “a message about leaving behind the old fashion rules” and “portraying this uninhibited freedom of expression” on the brand’s website.
After exposing his abundant chest tattoos and NSFW necklace on stage, Styles covered himself in a wool vest, plaid blazer and purple boa on the Grammy’s red carpet.
Styles was nominated for three awards: Best Music Video for “Adore You”, Best Pop Solo Performance for “Watermelon Sugar” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Fine Line”.
Perhaps the change from pearls to suggestive fruit symbolizes a change in Styles’ musical activities.
