Harry Maguire believes that Manchester United is showing greater determination to stay in this season’s games.
United had to fight hard for the 1-0 win over Wolves on Tuesday night, leaving behind to secure three points after Marcus Rashford added.
The win lifted United to second place in the Premier League table and sparked rumors that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team could challenge Liverpool for the league title.
Reflecting on the Wolves game, United captain Maguire estimates that the late goal showed that his teammates are now showing more fighting spirit.
“I think last year, in games like this, we were going to force and suffer a sloppy goal at the other end and we would have to go after the game,” Maguire told United’s official website.
“We would end up losing or drawing the game and giving us a lot to do.”
Maguire admitted that United were not at their best against the Wolves, but are seeing positive signs in recent performances. United have been unbeaten in nine league games.
“Each victory is a great victory,” he added. “We are in great form away from home this year, so it is important that we come here and start winning games at Old Trafford and make it difficult for teams to come and play.

Manchester United left the delay to beat the Wolves 1-0 in the Premier League, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s goal in the end

“It was not our best performance. The intensity was not very present in our football, in our offensive game, but in these games we have to bet, keep the game at 0-0 and not concede goals.
“It is important to keep the game at 0-0 and in our team you always have that talent at the end of the field so that something changes and Marcus took a turn and somersaulted in luck.
“But if anyone was going to win the game, it would always be us.”
