Fox News presenter Sean Hannity came to Sens’s defense. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Tuesday after the House’s Internal Security Committee chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., Suggest that they could be placed on the exclusion list view after last week’s Capitol riot.
Senate Democrats stepped up calls for Cruz and Hawley to step down after Wednesday’s chaos in the US Capitol building that left five dead, claiming that their roles in challenging the results of the November election helped to “undermine” democracy .
Thompson told SiriusXM’s The Joe Madison Show on Monday that the elected officials responsible for inciting the deadly attack should be added to the air exclusion list along with the perpetrators as “domestic terrorists”.
Hannity called Thompson’s remarks “insane” and dismissed the measure as a clear act of “exaggeration that would be fundamentally unfair”.

“Again, all of this because some Republicans have legally requested an emergency audit,” he said. “They can defend their opinions. That’s what Congress is all about. Should we all think in exactly the same way?”
Hannity pointed out what he called the evident double standard, noting that “[Rep.] Maxine Waters [D-Calif.] challenged the results on the Russia hoax in 2016 [and] no one talked about putting it on a no-fly list.

“So, what’s the pattern here?” he said.
Cruz and Hawley were vocal opponents during the counting of last week’s electoral votes, but neither endorsed force or violence, Hannity noted. Both lawmakers vehemently condemned the attack and called for harsh consequences for those who broke the law.
