Fox News presenter Sean Hannity accused Democrats on Thursday of running to judge and carry out an “instant impeachment” of President Trump before completing a full investigation into last week’s Capitol riot.
The “Hannity” host was reacting to the arrest of left-wing activist John Sullivan for his alleged involvement in deadly violence
Although Sullivan denied ties to Antifa in recent interviews, his group Insurgence USA had announced an event called “Kick those fascists out of DC” that would take place at the same time as the pro-Trump rally near the National Mall that preceded the Capitol chaos . .
“Now, we have evidence that it was not a spontaneous attack, it was planned,” Hannity told viewers. “All signals were ignored, which is why you don’t have an instant impeachment. [Rep.] Liz Cheney, do you keep your vote [to impeach]? Mitch McConnell, you will vote with Republicans [to convict]? Are you watching this unfold? “

The host argued that the rush to blame “is damaging to the country” and re-emphasized the importance of a “thorough and transparent investigation into what went wrong, not an instant political impeachment that does nothing.”
In light of the new development, Hannity said that any Republican senator who “participates in this insane post-presidential impeachment farce will not be eligible for the job.

“It’s that simple,” he said. “Make no mistake, this cannot happen during the summer, it can never happen again in our Capitol. We deserve answers and we need everyone responsible for any violence and any political motivation they have.”
But, he continued, “The crowd, the media, the Democrats rush to judge and have allowed their Trump fury to guide all their actions. Now the country has been abandoned again.”
