‘Hangry’ client Chick-fil-A slams the door to prevent a suspect from escaping the police

A helpful but “hungry” customer helped police officers in Jacksonville, Texas, opening his truck door and hitting a man they were chasing on a drive-through lane.

The Jacksonville Police Department said it was chasing a male suspect in a stolen vehicle when the suspect got out of the vehicle and started running away from police in a Chick-fil-A.

Surveillance images shared by the police on Wednesday showed how the quick reflexes ended the terrestrial chase outside the fast-food restaurant.

“Today, Jacksonville police officers tried to stop a man in a stolen vehicle. The suspect ran through the parking lot of Chick-Fil-A. A hungry customer, who was patiently waiting for his chicken sandwich, used his door to stop the suspect,” , said the department in a post on social media.

The images show that the man waiting in line opened the door just as the suspect was passing, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the side as two police officers approached a prison. The man in the vehicle is seen briefly checking the downed suspect as a police officer begins to handcuff the individual from the chase.

The police did not say what charges, if any, the suspect faces. The identity of the man who helped arrest the suspect was also not revealed.

The department added in its statement: “The suspect was quickly arrested after the ‘HANGRY’ (but helpful) citizen reminded the suspect why you should never run from the police.”
