Hamilton County has 11 new COVID deaths, 425 new cases; Coppinger will make an announcement on Wednesday about the fight at COVID; Tennessee has 3,527 new cases, plus 80 COVID deaths

Hamilton County on Monday reported 11 more deaths from coronavirus.

This brings the death toll in the county to 313.

The municipality also notified 425 new cases of COVID-19, with 196 patients hospitalized with 54 in Intensive Care Units. Thirteen more were in the hospital with suspected COVID. Of those hospitalized, 82 are residents of the county.

The new total of cases in Hamilton County is 34,254.

The number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus in Hamilton County is 29,224, which is 85 percent, and there are 4,717 active cases.

County Mayor Jim Coppinger said he would give a press conference on Wednesday at 11:30 am at the Department of Health’s Golley Auditorium.

He said he would make an announcement “about the ongoing battle with COVID-19.”

The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is 657,396 on Monday, with 3,527 new cases. There were another 80 deaths caused by the virus, for a total of 7,865, officials at the state Department of Health said.

The state currently has 3,079 people hospitalized because of the virus.

The test numbers are above 5.879 million across the state.

The number of people who recovered from the coronavirus in Tennessee is 568,910, 87 percent.
