After obtaining the rights to her directorial debut, Netflix wants to return to business with Halle Berry. The streamer got her to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the thriller Our Jersey man. David Guggenheim wrote the screenplay, produced by Wahlberg and his partner Stephen Levinson.
The plot details are being kept secret, but the film is described as a blue-collar James Bond. Sources say the plan is to shoot the film early next year in London.
The Oscar-winning actress added the title of director to her extensive filmography when she made her directorial debut. Bruised debuted at the Toronto Film Festival, receiving rave reviews for how impressive his work was for a debuting director and for his performance that impressed the festival circuit, especially Netflix. The streamer would end up paying eight digits for the rights, one of the biggest at the 2020 festival.
Furthermore Bruised, Berry was also seen recently in John Wick 3: Parabellum and there’s Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall bowing this year.
