Steam reviews tend to hover somewhere between ‘useful resource’ and ‘meme nightmare’, but at least they give us an idea of which games are enjoying the most positive feeling on the platform. Now that we’re getting to the end of 2020, it’s time to take a look at the most revised Steam games of the year. It may come as no surprise to find the excellent Hades at the top of the list, but there are some hidden gems among these ratings.
With 99% positive ratings after 105,009 votes, Hades is the highest rated Steam game of 2020. The precise ranking is determined by the Steam 250 algorithm, which determines the position of a game based on the number of votes and the percentage of ratings positive.
You will not find any traditional triple A launch in the top ten. It consists mainly of indie games, including Factorio, Phasmophobia and Risk of Rain 2. Even the big names are a bit nontraditional, like Valve’s VR title, Half-Life: Alyx, and the classic RPG update, Persona 4 Golden.
The full top 25 includes several games that have totally escaped my radar, including Helltaker, Townscaper, Ultrakill and a lot of popular visual novels. Check out the top 25 games below or get the full list of the best games on Steam 250.
