Gwyneth Paltrow reveals that being famous makes her uncomfortable and confirms her departure from acting

Gwyneth Paltrow is explaining the reasons why she has no immediate plans to return to acting.

The Oscar winner announced in 2020 that she is “semi-retired” from acting while continuing to oversee her lifestyle empire, Goop.

While sitting with model Naomi Campbell for her “No Filter With Naomi” program, Paltrow, 48, recently answered the question she repeatedly asked about her career: What would it take to put her back in front of the camera one day ?

“And I said I have to be the writer’s f-king!” Paltrow revealed via the Daily Mail, noting that this means that she would only accept a role if it was a request from her husband, director Brad Falchuk, 49.

“But that’s more or less,” added Paltrow. “If my husband writes something and he wants me to do it, I will do it.”

Paltrow also admitted that there is another exception.

“I could never say never. I would like to go back on stage one day. I really loved doing theater, ”explained Paltrow.

The “Emma” star then shared her reluctance to take on film roles because she felt uncomfortable in the spotlight, despite her decades-long success in the industry. At just 26 years old, the star won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance in “Shakespeare Apaixonado”. In 2011, she won an Emmy for her guest role on “Glee”.

“In fact, I am not so comfortable being a public person or being in front of the camera, although I have been doing it for so long,” said the star, noting that he came to that conclusion “later in life”.

“There is a part of me that really feels shy and doesn’t feel naturally outgoing,” added Paltrow.

In early 2020, Paltrow appeared at the Golden Globes to support his Netflix show “The Politician”, which received two nominations. The show was co-created by Falchuck and one of only two roles Paltrow took on in 2019, the other being Pepper Potts in “Avengers: Endgame”.

It was there that Paltrow admitted in an air interview with Ryan Seacrest that she worked on “The Politician” because the request came from her husband.

“I said, ‘I’m a Goop from head to toe’, but he is very charming,” said Paltrow. “He is very convincing.”

In the meantime, Paltrow’s Goop has gotten a series of documents entitled “The Goop Lab, “which launched on Netflix in January 2020.
