Guy Fieri signs a new three-year contract with the Food Network that will expand his role … 15 years after winning the Next Food Network star

Food Network is solidifying its grip on Guy Fieri.

Diners’ presenter, Drive-Ins and Dives, 53, has just signed a new three-year contract with the television culinary giant, The Hollywood Reporter, published on Monday.

It is likely that the blonde star – who will eat anything ‘in a slipper’ if it is good enough – is doing a good deal of the change in the deal, although the exact amount has not been disclosed.

“Guy Fieri infuses his energy and passion unmatched in every show he does,” Courtney White, president of the Food Network, told THR.

“He is truly unique, adored globally for his love of food and his deep appreciation for the people behind the scenes of the restaurants,” she continued. ‘I am very excited to be able to continue this extraordinary and creative partnership.’

Fieri has been with the chain since winning the second season of The Next Food Network Star in 2006. His new contract will take him nearly two decades with the culinary giant and expand his role as a producer.

THR reported that Guy will continue to develop and produce new series under his production company Knuckle Sandwich.

'The world of food is the ultimate unifier, so having a global platform to share real-life stories from some of the most deserving chefs, restaurant owners, home cooks, business people and anyone who just loves a good meal is an incredible opportunity. I can't wait for everyone to see what we're preparing for next, 'said Guy in a statement.

“Food Network is my home and I am happy to continue partnering with the entire Discovery family,” said Fieri in a statement.

Fieri has hosted 33 seasons of his addictive Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives series and later released two culinary competition games, Guy’s Grocery Games and Tournament of Champions.

He also starred and produced several other shows for the network such as the first, Guy’s Big Bite and Guy’s Family Road Trip.

The latter is currently on the air in the second season, which was filmed under strict COVID-19 security protocols.

In response to the pandemic, it partnered with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and created the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund for industry workers affected by the closures. The fund was able to raise more than $ 20 million in less than two months.

When Fieri won the Food Network Star in 2006, he was already the owner and operator of a handful of Northern California restaurants, but has since expanded his empire across the country.

Despite being arguably one of the Food Network’s most popular and beloved hosts, its restaurants have not fared so well with critics.

Its now closed Time’s Square restaurant, Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen & Bar, was infamously attacked by the New York Times in a 2012 review.
