GTA Online presents new content for 2021

GTA Online had what looks like an extremely successful 2020 by all metrics. According to developer Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto multiplayer has managed to break records for number of players and video views across multiple platforms, with the relatively recent addition of The Cayo Perico Heist certainly helping the issue. As part of a brief thank you note to players, Rockstar Games also introduced new content for the title.

More specifically, the Rockstar Games post invites players to “stay tuned for more commemorative events in the near future, for the chance to win new gear, GTA $ bonuses and a free vehicle in GTA Online”, for example. What it looks like, exactly, is yet to be seen, but it looks like free content updates will continue to arrive throughout 2021, and the developer still has some surprises in store.

It is relatively common for Grand Theft Auto Online to add new vehicles and free bonuses. Given that Grand Theft Auto V to be released on Xbox Series X | S and on PlayStation 5 sometime this year, it seems natural that some kind of content update will come with the launch of the next generation.
