Gronk reveals how he cheated the Bucs strength coach by skipping virtual workouts

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused NFL teams to do their conditioning work off-season remotely, and Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski says he used this to his advantage.

Gronkowski was supposed to film his workouts and send them to strength and conditioning trainer Anthony Piroli, but he revealed today that he actually just filmed himself sprinting with different shirts in one day, and then sent videos of himself on shirts on different days.

“So, when the next time came, I didn’t have to film myself because I already filmed myself running with a different shirt each time that day,” said Gronkowski, through the Tampa Bay Times. “[Piroli] I had no idea until today that I was cheating him half the time during those virtual training sessions. “

As with just about everything Gronk says, we don’t know how much is true and how much of a joke. Whether he did all the required wind races or not, Gronk got fit in time for the season, and the Bucs’ technical team praised him and said he wants him back in 2021.
