DENVER – While The Grizzly Rose’s voicemail ensures that all public health safety guidelines will be followed inside the dance hall and bar, hundreds of people huddled inside the company on Saturday.
Open only on Fridays and Saturdays, the Grizzly Rose, opened in 1989, has long been a local favorite in Denver.
Jenny Orin said it is a very popular spot in the community, but she was shocked to see a crowded crowd at the bar on Saturday night on social media.
Orin’s sister saw videos of Saturday night on Snapchat and showed it to her.
“It seems that in the beginning they were being good with social distance. They were standing two meters away, some people were wearing masks, but the video I saw last night was something completely different. It was a complete violation of public health, “said Orin.
Hundreds of people were packed in on Saturday night. Masks were a rarity and social distance was practically nonexistent.
“It is so surprising to see that they disregard their community in this way. I feel disregarded, ”said Orin.
She said the move to allow crowds of this size to feel like a “step backwards in our timeline to get back to normal.”
In the past year, other restaurants and music venues have faced legal battles over violations of state health orders.
So far, we have not received a response from local or state health departments about this great meeting. Grizzly Rose also chose not to comment.
“I don’t know how I feel about fines and violations, but what I saw last night shouldn’t be happening and I want it to stop,” said Orin.
