Grimes is showing off her new “Viking” haircut that she gave to her 8 month old son, X Æ A-Xii.
The Canadian song, 32, shared a photo of you cutting your baby’s hair on Thursday in an Instagram story. In the photo, X Æ A-Xii, whose father is the CEO of Tesla and founder of SpaceX Elon Musk, is sitting in the bathtub playing with toys while Grimes bends over and cuts his hair in a kind of mohawk.
The hairstyle, she revealed in captions in two other photos she shared, was inspired by the historic British TV series “The Last Kingdom”.
“I’m not sure if the haircut was good, but he’s a Viking now,” wrote Grimes. “Haircut inspired by the latest Netflix realm that is a masterpiece.”
In July, Musk opened to The New York Times about how he and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, are looking after their son.
When asked how he would balance parenting with his busy work schedule, Musk, 49, explained: “Well, babies are just poo-eating machines, you know? Right now, there’s not much I can do.”
“Grimes has a much bigger role than I do now,” he added. “When the child gets older, there will be another role for me.”
While X Æ A-Xii, whose name is “X Ash A Twelve”, is the first son of Grimes, Musk welcomed six other children, one of whom died in 2002, with his ex-wife, Justine Musk.
The billionaire businessman said he would rely on the same parenting techniques he used with his older children to relate to X Æ A-Xii when he got older.
“I think I am doing what I have been doing with my other children,” he explained. “If I have a Tesla trip to China, for example, I will take the children with me and we will see the Great Wall or take the bullet train from Beijing to Xian and see the Terracotta Warriors.”
