The 32-year-old singer made the announcement carelessly in her Instagram stories, where she joked that she was ‘strangely enjoying’ her sick time.

His post lacked any update on whether his partner Elon Musk, 49, or his eight-month-old baby son X Æ A-Xii, had been infected.

The Grimes virus case appears to be relatively mild based on its discreet statement.

‘I finally got COVID, but strangely enjoying the DayQuil 2021 fever dream’, she captioned her post, adding a plant and a fairy emoji.

The singer included a screenshot of the single art from the new song by SZA Good Days, which was released at Christmas and appeared to be the soundtrack of the electronic musician’s recovery.

‘This song is soooo …’ she wrote, before ending with the planet and star, heart and dragon emojis.

The Canadian singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, is coming out of a new period of activity after releasing an updated version of her latest album, Miss Anthropocene, on New Year’s Day.

The ‘Rave Edition’ was equipped with more club-friendly remixes for most of the tracks, as well as two tracks that already fit into their original incarnations.

The original version of the critically acclaimed album was released in February 2020, after Grimes spent two years working on it.

Grimes and his partner Elon Musk started dating in 2018 after they got together because of a joke shared on Twitter.

She and Tesla’s CEO welcomed their first child, with the abstract name of X Æ A-Xii, in May 2020.

In recent months, Musk has been criticized on social media for some of his recent socially conservative posts, particularly in relation to online censorship and transgender rights.

“I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare,” he complained on Twitter on December 16 in response to critical criticism of him.

The post led the businessman to be mercilessly ridiculed on Twitter by users who pointed out that his son’s name could also qualify as an ‘aesthetic nightmare’.

‘You called your son x æ a-12 and you want to call PRONOUNS an aesthetic nightmare ????’ wrote a user.

Another joked that, ‘elon musk called his baby X Æ A-12, but people who have pronouns is where he draws the line.’

The founder of SpaceX recently saw his fortune expand to the point of toppling Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos as the richest man in the world.

Musk currently tops the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a total net worth of $ 209 billion, while Bezos is the second richest with $ 186 billion and Bill Gates comes in third with $ 134 billion.
