Grimes reveals he contracted coronavirus, but is “strangely enjoying” the recovery

Grimes revealed that she contracted coronavirus.

The singer and songwriter, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, accessed her Instagram story on Friday to tell the world, somewhat improvised, that she is among the many people across the country who have tested positive for the virus.

“FINALLY GOT COVID, BUT ENJOYING FEBRUARY DAYQUIL 2021’S DREAM,” she wrote (via Yahoo Entertainment).

The post also came with a recommendation for the song “Good Days” by SZA. The 32-year-old did not say whether her partner, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, or the 8-month-old son also tested positive.

However, the outlet notes that Musk tweeted in November that at the time he believed he had already contracted the coronavirus, but was experiencing only symptoms similar to a cold.

In May, the couple welcomed their first child, whom they named X Æ A-XII. Since then, they have come to refer to the child as X.

In a profile for The New York Times in October, Grimes revealed to the public some of the unconventional ways in which she is trying to rethink the typical parenting paradigm.

“I watched ‘Apocalypse Now’ and stuff with my baby,” the singer told the outlet. “He likes radical art.”

She added, “Like, he just is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to interact with them at that level.”

Grimes also revealed that she is trying to expose the child to new aesthetics, as well as music, in the hope of stimulating a creative pattern from the beginning and breaking the mold of the art that babies are normally subjected to.

“I’m not insulting babies,” said the singer. “I just am, it’s all a vibe. I just feel like going out like, ‘Here’s a zebra and a bear in, like, pastel shades’ energy. That’s just a very small type of creative lens that things can be seen through. “
