Greg Norman in hospital with virus after parent-child tournament

Golf Hall of Famer player Greg Norman shared photos on social media on Friday, suggesting he was hospitalized with COVID-19.

The 65-year-old Australian posted a video on Instagram late on Thursday saying he was showing symptoms of the coronavirus, then posted photos on Friday showing himself in a hospital bed.

“It sums it up,” he wrote. “My Christmas day.”

Norman’s son, Greg Norman Jr., also said on social media that he and his wife, Michelle, had a positive test. The Normans competed in the PNC father and son championship in Orlando, Florida, last weekend.

Elder Norman said on Thursday that he had flu-like symptoms, including low fever, cough, pain and a mild headache. He said he did a virus test on Tuesday that was negative, but he was still quarantined.

He was apparently admitted to a hospital on Friday, sharing a photo of himself in a hospital bed and another of a medical professional wearing personal protective equipment from head to toe.

“It’s been ugly,” said Norman on Thursday. “I, at least, am looking forward to getting out of this quarantine and building whatever the big future is in 2021 and beyond.”
