The Recording Academy unveiled this year’s full Grammy schedule. Artists include Cardi B, BTS, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Maren Morris, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch and Taylor Swift. Bad Bunny, Black Pumas, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, Haim, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Harry Styles were also confirmed as first-time performers.
Although BTS performed technically last year, they appeared only briefly to contribute to Lil Nas X’s slot on “Old Town Road”. Likewise, Roddy Ricch performed for the first time last year, but as part of a group tribute to Nipsey Hussle. It is also important to note that Harry Styles never performed as part of One Direction.
“The artists will be coming together, though still safe apart, to play music for each other as a community and celebrate the music that unites us all,” said the Recording Academy in a statement on Sunday morning, March 7.
The show, presented by comedian and Daily Show host Trevor Noah, is scheduled to start at 5 pm PT (8 pm ET) on Sunday, March 14. It will air on CBS and be available for live streaming on Paramount +, where it can also be accessed on demand.
Although there is a mix of live and pre-recorded performances for security purposes, executive producer Ben Winston said Rolling Stone that he intends to make the whole show look as alive as possible. Winston also revealed that it will not happen at the Staples Center. (1999 was the last time the Grammy was held at NY’s Madison Square Garden or the Los Angeles Staples Center.)
