Governor Henry McMaster opens chapter of the American Indigenous International Chamber of Commerce in South Carolina | The business

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster declared March 24th “IAICC-South Carolina Chapter Day” in a proclamation at the inauguration of the chapter of the American Indigenous International Chamber of Commerce in South Carolina at the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia, South Carolina.

McMaster presented the proclamation to KV Kumar, president and CEO of the IAICC, and appreciated the work of the IAICC. He welcomed the organization to South Carolina and said that his government will work with the IAICC and support its initiatives in the state.

He also said that South Carolina and India have great relations and that the state has played a significant role in promoting trade relations between India and the United States for many years, a press release noted. He added that relations between the two countries continued to flourish even during the pandemic and announced that South Carolina was the first state in the southeastern region to establish a commercial representative office in New Delhi.

During her speech, the Consul General of India in Atlanta, Dr. Swati Kulkarni, said that the IAICC will be a catalyst to bring more business opportunities to South Carolina.

At the inauguration, Commerce Secretary Robert Hitt III and IAICC officials signed a memorandum of understanding. One of the objectives of the MoU stated that the signatories will establish and promote a new era in South Carolina-India relations, the statement added.

At the event attended by several executive members of the IAICC and the local community and business leaders, Bhavna Vasudeva was introduced as the president of the IAICC-SC chapter.
