Governor Evers extends the mask’s mandate across the state

MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Governor Tony Evers plans to extend the mask’s mandate across the state.

During a press conference on Friday, the governor noted that the original mandate was set to expire next week. He says the new one should last 60 days, starting in March.

Following the announcement, Republican state senator Steve Nass said he plans to submit a joint resolution to the Legislative Assembly to end the mask’s term immediately.

“The time has come for the Wisconsin Legislature to defend civil liberties and put an end to Governor Evers’ excessive actions to control the people of this state with endless Covid-19 emergency declarations,” Nass wrote in a statement. “The people of Wisconsin have been living with Covid-19 for almost a year. They are more than capable of determining for themselves and their family which steps are appropriate in their daily lives, without Evers’ heavy hand. “
