Governor Cuomo denounced by Cynthia Nixon over allegations of sexual harassment and ‘corrupt behavior’

Governor Andrew Cuomo was summoned by Cynthia Nixon.

The “Sex and the City” actress previously ran against Cuomo for governor of New York in 2018, but was defeated in the primaries.

Now, despite appearing to have given up on her political aspirations, the 54-year-old actress turned to Twitter to criticize her former opponent, as more and more citizens and politicians call for his resignation.

Nixon took note of a multi-day tweet stating that New York City’s chairman and candidate for controller, Corey Johnson, supports Cuomo, despite recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the politician.

However, at the end of last month, Johnson said the allegations were “serious and disturbing” and said he supported an “independent investigation”.

When Nixon got the message online, she listed all the reasons why she believes Johnson should change his mind.

“I think Cuomo still has an advocate after – accusations of sexual harassment – preventable deaths in nursing homes – bridges built without security – lots of coverage – etc.,” she wrote.

The “Ratched” star added, “How much evidence do you need @CoreyinNYC?”

In recent weeks, Nixon has been verbally critical and skeptical of Cuomo, 63. On Wednesday, she fired a series of tweets criticizing the politician, who also faces scandal over his team’s incorrect report on coronavirus-related deaths in nursing homes.

“NY is about to receive billions in pandemic aid to help schools, hospitals, businesses and more. BUT … Andrew Cuomo decides how it will be spent”, she started. “When the feds gave NY a billion to help schools in the beginning of the pandemic, Cuomo took the opportunity to fill an unrelated budget gap.”

On the topic, she accused Cuomo of “corrupt behavior” for years, trying to “hide the exorbitant death toll” in nursing homes and losing “public trust”.

“It cannot be trusted that it will act in the best interest of ordinary New York citizens over their own perceived interests and those of their donors,” the star continuous. “During a pandemic, we cannot afford to sit and wait for him to make the right choice, but when he does not, it will cost lives”

She concluded her message by calling on Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand to act. On Friday, the New York political duo officially called for Cuomo’s resignation, as well as Johnson.

Representatives for Cuomo and Johnson did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
