Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced today that 102,907 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours. The total federal allocation for the 9th week of vaccine distribution to providers will be completed today. As of 11 am today, New York’s health care delivery locations have received 2,192,675 first doses and have administered 89 percent or 1,957,681 first-dose vaccinations and 83 percent of the first and second doses. The week 10 allocation of the federal government allocation from the federal government starts mid-week.
“We remain stuck in a race between the rate of infection and the rate of vaccination and, although we are making significant progress on both fronts thanks to the hard work of New Yorkers, we cannot become complacent – now is not the time to be smug. with COVID, “said Governor Cuomo. “With more than 10 million New Yorkers now eligible for the vaccine, we have the right infrastructure for it to be administered quickly and fairly, but we continue to be hampered only by supply. Fortunately, with real leadership now in Washington, we started to see this increase in supply and expects this trend to continue until New York is free of COVID. “
The ‘I am eligible’ screening tool has been updated for individuals with underlying comorbidities and conditions with new consultations released on an ongoing basis in the coming weeks. Starting next week, local health departments will also receive vaccines for these individuals. New Yorkers can use the following to show that they are eligible:
- Doctor’s letter, or
- Medical information showing comorbidity, or
- Signed certification
Approximately 10 million New Yorkers are currently eligible to receive the vaccine. The federal government has increased weekly supplies by more than 20% over the next three weeks, but New York’s vast distribution network and large population of eligible individuals still far exceed supplies from the federal government. Due to limited supply, New Yorkers are encouraged to remain patient and are advised not to attend vaccination locations without an appointment.
The vaccination program numbers below are for doses distributed and delivered in New York for the state’s vaccination program and do not include those reserved for the federal government’s long-term care program. The division of the data based on the numbers reported to the state of New York as of 11:00 am today is as follows. The allocation totals below include 100% of the week 9 allocation, which will end up being distributed to New York provider sites today. The total allocation for week 9 also includes some excess vaccine doses that were reallocated from the federal long-term care facility program.

To date, New York’s health care delivery locations have administered 89% of the first doses received from the federal government, but due to the limited allocation from the federal government, consultations have been completed quickly. New Yorkers looking to determine eligibility and schedule an appointment at a state-run mass vaccination site can visit the ‘I’m eligible’ website. New Yorkers can also call their local health department, pharmacy, doctor or hospital for additional information and to schedule appointments where vaccines are available.
The COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker Dashboard is available to update New Yorkers about the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. The New York State Department of Health requires vaccination facilities to report all COVID-19 vaccine administration data within 24 hours; vaccine administration data on the panel is updated daily to reflect the most up-to-date metrics in the state’s vaccination effort.
New Yorkers who suspect fraud in the vaccine distribution process can now call 833-VAX-SCAM (833-829-7226) for free or email the state’s Department of Health. [email protected] The hotline team will forward complaints to the appropriate investigative agencies to ensure that New Yorkers are not taken advantage of while the state works to vaccinate the entire eligible population.
