Governor Andrew Cuomo was assaulted by Trevor Noah because of a scandal in the nursing home

Governor Andrew Cuomo has a new critic, comedian Trevor Noah.

The 36-year-old star protested the New York politician in a recent episode of “The Daily Show” about the Cuomo administration’s handling of data around COVID-19 in nursing homes.

It was recently revealed that the governor’s office may have underestimated the number of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes by more than 50%, according to a report by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

And one of the biggest bombs came on Thursday night, when the New York Post revealed that Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, admitted during a conference call with Democratic leaders that the government hid unfavorable information about the deaths of the home COVID-19 senior citizens in the state out of concern that it “would be used against us”.

“Wow, really, Governor Cuomo?” Noah asked during the episode. “Did you download your own numbers to get better?”

The comedian then tore up the explanation of Cuomo’s mismanagement for the incorrect report.

“The explanation they are offering is that they thought the Trump administration would use the high deaths in nursing homes against them,” he said.

“Usually, if you’re not doing a good job, it’s used against you,” said Noah. This is the main point of the data. “

He added: “When you think about it, messing with COVID numbers to look better is the most Trump thing you can do.”

He called the turn of events “ironic” because of Cuomo’s initial reputation for providing “coherent and ‘informative’ press conferences while Trump tried to inject people with bleach,” Noah said.

In addition, Noah added that “doing the wrong thing” cannot be justified because “Trump may or may not have” used the numbers against the Cuomo government.

The star concluded its part by comparing the incident to Batman preemptively killing citizens because the Joker had terrible plans for them as well.
